Group Fitness at Lower Providence Fire Co.

You don’t have to be a fitness fanatic to take my classes! This is YOUR workout, no one else’s, so please modify the movements as needed. I will guide, coach, and give you modifications through each class.

Starting May 2021: outdoor group fitness classes at Lower Providence Fire Co.

Class times and venue are subject to change. 

JUNE: Please note that the Lower Providence Fair will be held June 3-12. The Thursday night class on 6/3 will be at 7:00pm on 6/2 (after Zumba with Jess) and the 6/10 class will be held via Zoom. The Saturday classes will not be affected and will run as usual.

How to Attend

  3. Join Us at the Venue 1 class pass redeemed; please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in; schedule changes will be posted at least 2 hours before start

Bootcamp (Night)

Duration: 45 minutes

Description

An interval training class that combines calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. Workouts will vary every week.

For the outdoor classes, please note:

  • If you are not feeling well, please refrain from attending class.
  • Arrive at least 5 minutes before class time, and 10 minutes before class time if it is your first time attending.
  • Masks are required before and after class, but can be removed during class.
  • Each Bootcamper will have a marked spot designated to them for the duration of the class to adhere to social distancing protocols.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available.
  • Bring a water bottle and hydrate when needed.
  • In the event of inclement weather (rain, too hot, high winds), class will be held via Zoom. You will be notified within a minimum of 2 hours before class time if the class will be rescheduled for Zoom. Check the Because Fitness website or Facebook for these class updates.

FAQ

Outdoor Classes

  • Do I need to register each time I want to attend an outdoor bootcamp class?

    No. You do not need to register for any individual classes. You only need to create and verify your account and purchase at least one class pass.

  • What should I wear?

    Please wear comfortable, athletic clothing and supportive sneakers. No open-toed shoes or bare feet.

    You may also want to have a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen ready as the venue offers minimal shade.

    Dress in layers for those colder days.

  • Do I need to wear a mask?

    As of 5/13/2021 Per CDC guidance no masks are needed before or after outdoor classes for fully vaccinated individuals.

  • What should I bring to the outdoor classes?

    Exercise mat, water and towel.

  • Where do I park for the outdoor bootcamp classes?

    When attending class at the Lower Providence Fire Company, please park on the side of the building farthest from E. Mt. Kirk Avenue. As you are facing the building, park in the right-hand side lot.

  • Where are the outdoor classes held?

    Classes are held in the rear parking lot of the Lower Providence Fire Department.

  • Is there a public restroom or changing area on premises?

    There are no public restrooms or changing areas for use at the Lower Providence Fire Company.

    There are several businesses nearby that have facilities.

  • How and when will I be notified if an outdoor class is cancelled or rescheduled?

    If rain is forecast or it is too hot for class to be held outdoors, the class session will be run online through Zoom at the designated time. Please check the website or the Because Fitness Facebook page for updates. Time or venue changes will be posted to the class listings no later than 2 hours before the originally scheduled start time.

  • Will Bootcamp be offered every Thursday night and Saturday morning throughout Spring, Summer and Fall?

    Class formats, days and times may change as I consider your feedback and gauge participation and interest. If something changes, I will notify everyone well in advance!
